August 25, 2017 -Red Cedar Speedway Championships

Menomonie, Wisconsin (August 25, 2017) the Red Cedar Speedway, Keyes Chevrolet, Mars Racing, Snap-On by Aaron Wold, and Quality Auto Body presented the 2017 Season Championships.  The WISSOTA Poly Dome Dirt Track Series sanctioned Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks and Hornets were all in action. August 18, 2017 - Rain Wins at Red Cedar Speedway

Menomonie, Wisconsin (August 18, 2017) Due to heavy rains throughout the week and poor drying conditions, the Red Cedar Speedway was forced to cancel the Keyes Chevrolet and Mars Racing Season Championship Night and reschedule the same.  On August 25, 2017, Snap-On by Aaron Wold and Quality Auto Body will present the Season Championship races.  All seven classes with the WISSOTA Poly Dome Dirt Track Series sanctioned Late Models, Modifieds, Midwest Modifieds, Super Stocks, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, and RCS Hornets will be in action.  Realtor Shelly Watkins will pay out $50.00 to the hard charger. The money is awarded to the feature winner who won from the furthest position in the field.

July 28, 2017 - Anderson in the Mods at Red Cedar Speedway
Menomonie, Wisconsin (July 28, 2017) the Red Cedar Speedway presented the Dunn County Fair Night and Double Buzzer Hornet Special Night Two presented by Tractor Central. The WISSOTA Poly Dome Dirt Track Series sanctioned Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks and Hornets were all in action.  Feature winners included Mike Anderson, Jeff Brauer, Shane Halopka, Mike Knudtson, George Richards, and Derek Krumrie.  

The Tim’s Automotive Modifieds heats were won by Kevin Adams and Cory Mahder but it was Mike Anderson racing from sixth to the win at feature time.  Chet Atkinson moved from the pole to lead lap one of the feature when an early yellow flag flew for a spinning Brandon Jensen and Mike Knopps as Knopps was sent to the rear.  Atkinson led the restart but Jake Hanson and Jason Richardson were involved in a caution in turn four.  Neither car continued.  Once again under green, Atkinson was under heavy pressure by Cory Williams, but Mike Anderson powered under both to the point.  Anderson continued to lead as Mark Hessler used the high side to move to second and seventh starting Mahder moved to third. >>Read More


July 27, 2017 - Krumrie Wins in Night #1 of the Double Buzzer

Menomonie, Wisconsin (July 27, 2017) the Red Cedar Speedway presented the Double Buzzer Hornet Special Night One sponsored by Midwest Family Broadcasting.  There was $5 Grandstand Admission and the USRA Limited Late Models, UMSS Traditionals, Victory Promotions 600 Mini Mods were on the card.  Feature winners included Derrick Krumrie, Mike Mueller, and Lance Hofer.

The night’s featured event was the first night of the Double Buzzer Hornet Special as Bradley York and Derrick Krumrie won the heats and Krumrie drove from the pole to the feature win in the feature.  The feature was lined up by passing points making the heats very important.  An early yellow flag flew to keep the pack grouped tight but Krumrie led every lap.  He and Bradley York drove away from the pack and York made a serious last lap bid for the win.  He drove under the leader in turns three and four but it was Krumrie winning the drag race to the checkers, literally winning by inches. Jordan Langer, Jason Holte, and 3229-Chad Walera rounded out the top five. >>Read More


July 7, 2017 - Career Night for Bart Steffen at RCS
Menomonie, Wisconsin (July 07, 2017) the Red Cedar Speedway and Dick’s RV sponsored Military Night with free grandstand admission with Military ID, a weekly racing series event.  All seven classes were in action with the WISSOTA Poly Dome Dirt Track Series sanctioned Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks and Hornets.  Feature winner included Jesse Glenz, Kevin Adams, Bart Steffen, Bart Steffen again, Shane Halopka, Danny Richards, and William Voeltz. >>Read More

June 30, 2017 - Hanestad Wins at Red Cedar Speedway
Menomonie, Wisconsin (June 30, 2017) the Red Cedar Speedway presented Pack the Stands Night with half price grandstand admission featuring the NVSR Vintage Cars and UMSS Traditionals (Sprint cars).  The WISSOTA Poly Dome Dirt Track Series sanctioned Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks and RCS Hornets were also in action as.  24-7 Telcom sponsored the racing night.  There were no Late Models or Modifieds on the card.  Feature winners included Nick Koehler, Ron Hanestad, Dustin Doughty, William Voeltz, and Jimmy Kouba.  A rainstorm just before the event delayed the start of racing and the Super Stock feature was postponed to next Friday night due to curfew rules. >>Read More


June 16, 2017 - Three Go Back-To-Back at Red Cedar Speedway
Menomonie, Wisconsin (June 16, 2017) the Red Cedar Speedway, Thunderhill Speedway, and Trail Dodge presented the Outlaw Mini Mod Series along with the WISSOTA Poly Dome Dirt Track Series sanctioned Late Models, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks and Hornets.  There were no Modifieds on the card.  Feature winner included Mike Prochnow, Dan Gullixson, Jake Smith, Sam Fankhauser, George Richards, and Derick Krumrie.

The T.L. Sinz Plumbing Late Models saw Mike Keller win the heat and sit of the pole for the feature as he was flanked by Greg Nippoldt at the drop of the green.  It was Keller leading early but by lap five, Mike Prochnow came from his fourth starting position to take the point and never look back in the caution free event.  Keller maintained a strong second over Jesse Glenz, Buddy Hanestad, and fifth finishing Cole Spacek. >>Read More


June 9, 2017 - Its Anderson at Red Cedar Speedway
Menomonie, Wisconsin (June 09, 2017) the Red Cedar Speedway, DKS Construction, and Lewis Bjork Plumbing presented the WISSOTA Race of Champions night as the feature winners qualified for the Race of Champions during the WISSOTA 100. Feature winner included Mike Prochnow, Ashley Anderson, Dan Gullixson, Travis Anderson, Danny Richards, Kent Harmon, and Derick Krumrie.

The T.L. Sinz Plumbing Late Models saw Rick Hanestad win the heat and Mike Prochnow drive from the pole position to the checkered flag in a race which was only slowed once for a stalled car. John Kaanta hounded the leader for three quarters of the race and was able to pull even in turns three and four on multiple laps. The higher line of Prochnow allowed his momentum off turn four to lead each lap. Later in the event, AJ Diemel caught Kaanta and after a fine battle for the position, it was Diemel in second at the finish. Kaanta, Hanestad, and Jesse Glenz rounded out the top five. >>Read More

June 2, 2017 - Mahder Tops Mods at Red Cedar Speedway
Menomonie, Wisconsin (June 02, 2017) the Red Cedar Speedway and E.O. Johnson Business Technologies presented the 2nd Annual Modified Special with unsanctioned modifieds which allowed open motor competitors to race against WISSOTA legal cars.  In addition the WISSOTA Poly Dome Dirt Track Series sanctioned Midwest Modifieds, Super Stocks, and Late Models were on the card.  Feature winners included Cory Mahder, Jesse Glenz, Tommy Richards, and Grant Southworth.

The unsanctioned modified event saw local, regional, and national runners compete for the increased payday.  Among the local weekly competitors, Brandon and Joey Jensen, AJ Diemel, Jimmy Mars, Jake Timm, Lucas Schott, and Craig Thatcher showed up in A Mods to race.  It was Matt Leer and Craig Thatcher winning from the pole and Kerry Halopka and Joey Jensen winning from the outside of the front rows of their respective heats. >>Read More


May 12, 2017 - Too Wet at Red Cedar Speedway

Menomonie, Wisconsin (May 19, 2017) The Serve Pro of Barron, Dunn & Rusk Counties sponsored races at the Red Cedar Speedway were cancelled due to weeklong rains. The Red Cedar Speedway will return to action on Friday, May 26, 2017, with the UMSS Winged and Traditional Sprint Cars plus the WISSOTA Poly Dome Dirt Track Series sanctioned Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Red Cedar Hornets. The Street Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Modifieds, and Late Models will not be on the card.

June 2, 2017 brings the Modified Special with unsanctioned modifieds plus the WISSOTA Poly Dome Dirt Track Series sanctioned Late Models, Super Stocks, and Midwest Modifieds presented by E.O. Johnson Business Technologies.

May 12, 2017 - Kolek Gets First Win at Red Cedar

Menomonie, Wisconsin (May 12, 2017) Sports Rider presented the best tradition in racing with Meet the Driver Night as they.sponsored the Red Cedar Speedway and the WISSOTA Poly Dome Dirt Track Series sanctioned Pure Stocks, Street Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Super Stocks, Modifieds, and Late Models along with the Red Cedar Hornets. Feature winners included AJ Diemel, Ashley Anderson, Jesse Redetzke, Carl Kolek, Danny Richards, George Richards, and Jeremy Johnson.

The T.L. Sinz Plumbing Late Model heat was won by Jake Redetzke as AJ Diemel rode his outside front row starting position to the victory at feature time.  Diemel quickly jumped out front over Rick Hanestad and Jake Redetzke as the group stretched out.  The race ran caution free but at about two thirds through the race, Diemel nearly spun on his own in the lead.  Hanestad charged hard to take advantage, but to no avail.  Diemel regained control of his car and the race and drove to the win.  Hanestad, Redetzke, Mike Prochnow, and John Kaanta were scored in the top five. >>Read More


May 5, 2017 - Knudston Steals One at Red Cedar
Design Built Structures.sponsored the Red Cedar Speedway and the WISSOTA Poly Dome Dirt Track Series sanctioned Street Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Super Stocks, Modifieds, and Late Models along with the Red Cedar Pure Stocks and Hornets. Feature winners included John Kaanta, Ashley Anderson, Tommy Richards, Nick Koehler, Michael Knudtson, Michael Blevins, and Bradley York.

The T.L. Sinz Plumbing Late Model heats were won by Mike Prochnow and John Kaanta and once again, it was pole sitter Kaanta who led the feature from cover to cover. Darrell Nelson closed late to pose a challenge for the lead, but Kaanta was cooler than the other side of a pillow, and picked up the pace to ease back out into a two car advantage to the checkered flag. April 13, 2017 - 2017 Season Opener Postponed
Red Cedar Speedway has been forced to postpone the start start of the season due to cold and wet conditions.. The plan is to run the Randy Buss Icebreaker on April 21st, it will be the Late Models, Mods, Supers, and Mid West Mods. April 28th we will run all 7 classes. Hopefully everyone will have a happy Easter and keep your fingers crossed for warmer and dry weather.

September 24, 2016 - Another Successful Punky Manor Challenge in the Books
The Red Cedar Speedway held the 37th Annual Punky Manor Challenge of Champions in Menomonie, Wisconsin on September 22, 23, and 24, 2016. Heavy rains leading up to the event had many wondering if it would be possible for the track crew to get things ready for racing action. They were able to get the track race ready for Thursday and improved on it’s condition throughout the weekend. A complete show was run for the Hornets, Pure Stocks, and the WISSOTA Poly Dome Dirt Track Series sanctioned Street Stocks on Thursday night. Racing resumed for the heats for the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Super Stocks, Modifieds, and Late Models on Friday and concluded with their B-Features and A-Features on Saturday night. <<MORE>>

August 26, 2016 - Red Cedar Season Championship
Menomonie, Wisconsin (August 26, 2016) Friday, August 26, 2016, the Red Cedar Speedway held the Season Championships presented by Snap-On by Aaron Wold and Quality Auto Body.  All seven classes of cars were in attendance as the Hornets, Pure Stocks, and the WISSOTA Poly Dome Dirt Track Series sanctioned Street Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Super Stocks, Modifieds, and Late Models competed.  Feature winners included Mike Prochnow, Mark Gerth, Shane Halopka, Curt Myers, Michael Knudtson, Dustin Doughty, and Bradley York.

The Late Model feature saw Mike Prochnow blast from the pole to a convincing victory 20 laps later.  The caution free event saw Mark Hessler move to second over Pat Doar, and Rick Hanestad.  Ninth starting Mike Keller drove a second Prochnow car and looked very good in a Late Model as he worked on Hanestad late but settled for an impressive five place finish. <<MORE>>
