Red Cedar
Speedway Wet Once Again
By
Ed Reichert
Menomonie WI, June 27 – For the second straight week
and the seventh time during the 2008 racing season,
the races at the Red Cedar Speedway had to be
cancelled due to inclement weather.
In a
situation strangely reminiscent to last week, a line
of thunderstorms hit the track just at 7 p.m. with a
full pit area of race cars and a grandstand rapidly
filling. While it didn’t rain for a great length of
time, more than enough rain fell to make the track
untraceable and postpone the Midseason Championships
for the second straight time.
Next
Thursday and Friday, July 3rd and 4th
, the Rumble at Red Cedar will take center stage as
the WISSOTA Late Models will be running for a top
prize of $5,000 in the holiday special. Super
Stocks, Midwest Modifieds and Pure Stocks will also
be competing.
The Midseason Championship has
been tentatively rescheduled for Friday, July 11th.
Check the speedway website at

official confirmation on the rescheduling situation. |
